#Repeal162 is a movement that seeks to rewrite history and map out a brighter future for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*gender, Queer, Intersex (LGBTQI) individuals in Kenya. It is a campaign supported by:

The National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (NGLHRC),

Gay and Lesbian Coalition of Kenya (GALCK),

Nyanza, Rift Valley & Western Kenya Network (NYARWEK)

#Repeal162 seeks to give the LGBTQI community a voice. To amplify the cry for the recognition and protection of the rights of LGBTQI Kenyans. We come together to denounce laws that discriminate against LGBTQI individuals.

We believe in a new vision for Kenya and for Africa as a whole. Deeply rooted in our history, we shun the popular belief that queerness is un-African.

Our vision sees a future of non-discrimination and equality before the law for LGBTQI people. We envision a government that protects everyone, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or class.

Every human being has a right to privacy, dignity and the freedom of expression. We say no to violence, discrimination and hate against the LGBTQI community.

Further, we believe in the strength that comes from having a unified voice.

Our movement transcends borders. We embrace and champion diversity. It is our time. We are agents of change.
